Here's Why My Internet Home Base Business Ideas May Be So Important To Your Future And Why You Should Seriously Consider a
Work From Home Future...
Reason #1
If It's This Bad In The World's Richest Country, What's It Like Where You Live?
There's no doubt that the United States of America is the wealthiest nation the world has ever seen, and as such it may never be surpassed -
and it's no surprise that the centre of the Home Business Universe is right there in the USA.
But that doesn't mean it's not without it's problems, and one of the most serious is the demographic time bomb ticking away under it's pension
and social security provision.
Be in no doubt; regardless of the upsurge in the Home Based Business sector, if it's affecting America so badly, it will be affecting other
less wealthy countries even more.
And that's why throughout this web site, most of the information will relate to the United States of America - the world's wealthiest
country.
You're free to draw your own conclusions when you make comparisons with your own country, which may be less wealthy than the benchmark.
So if I could ask the headline question again, "what's it like where you live?"
Because this is what it's like where the 'rich folk' live...
Consider these findings from a recent US Government survey...
- “The US Social Security Board reports that 85 out of 100 Americans reaching age 65 don't possess as much as $250”.
- "And only 2% are self-sustaining (the rest being dependent on family, church, or the government)!”
- "Almost half of all households in America report having difficulty meeting their monthly financial commitments”.
- "Plus, the average credit card balance is $7000”.
- And in 2001, “Well over 1 million Americans filed for bankruptcy as a way out of their financial problems”.
And at age 65...
- Only 1% "Could be classified as "wealthy"
- More than 78%... "Claim to have total assets of less than $35,000" (That's total assets not cash savings)
- More than 60%... "Report having an annual income of less than $6000"
- And including social security... "More than 80% report a total income of less tha
n $15,000".
Just what is a "Demographic Time Bomb"
Simply put it's the fact that the population is living longer and the birth rate is falling.
In stark terms this means that in a few years time there will not be enough people working to pay the social security benefits of those who have
retired.
And the crucial factor is the ratio of current workers to retirees.
The social security programme was designed as a "pay-as-you-go" insurance program, with the current workforce paying for the benefits of
retirees.
In 2001, there were an estimated 3.4 workers paying Social Security payroll taxes for the benefit of each retiree; by 2050, that ratio will fall
to an estimated 2.1 workers per retiree.
And as an example of the speed at which the ratio between workers and retirees is changing:
In 1940, there were 42 workers per retiree.
Today the ratio is 3-to-1; by 2050 it will be 2-to-1.
The burden on each individual worker will increase substantially and social security will no longer be able to meet it's commitments to retirees
at current payroll tax levels.
"The trustees of the Social Security system project that expenditures will exceed income in 2017, and the trust fund will be exhausted by 2042.
The trustees' report predicted that maintaining the program in its current form would mean cutting benefits by 13 percent, or raising the payroll
tax by 15 percent"
Can you imagine that?
There are just 2 choices...
Cut benefits by 13% or increase income or payroll tax by 15%.
Now is that scary or what?
And don't forget...
These are problems facing the wealthiest country the world has ever seen.
So...
To re-iterate:
If it's that bad in the world's richest country, what's it like where you live?
I can only imagine that it's no better, and it might be a whole lot worse.
